Unit for on-line control of intensity and kinetic characteristics of luminescence of diamonds and associated minerals UOK-2 is designed for determining numeric values of luminescence parameters used in X-ray luminescent separators of NPP “Burevestnik” when separating diamonds and associated luminescent minerals. Data arrays are accumulated, archived, analyzed, and graphically represented. The obtained characteristics may be used:
The principle of operation of UOK-2 is based on the property of diamonds to luminesce under the action of X-rays and the difference of these properties in diamonds and associated luminescent minerals. Simultaneous determination of characteristics is possible when recording luminescence of an object both on the side of radiation and on the side opposite to radiation. Data obtained on UOK-2 should be the starting point for improvement of X-ray luminescent separators and of technologic flowcharts for dressing diamond-bearing materials.
The material being processed: dry; washed of clay and sludge, dust-free; sized (content of primary size not below 85%).
UOK-2 consists of a measuring unit (MU), a controlling and recording unit (CRU), and a personal computer with specialized software.
The unit is fitted with a bowl vibrating feeder and a turning gear with
4 sampling cuvettes.
The unit is powered from an AC network 220 V, 50 Hz. The power consumption does not exceed 200 VA.
The unit is operated at the temperature from +10 to +35° С at relative humidity up to 80%.
The housing of the measuring unit ensures full protection of personnel from X-rays.
